WinFax Pro was alway's the best, a hog, but had the best features, I especially liked how it had several coversheet templates you could choose from, while other competitors like SnappyFax and Mightyfax simply didn't have such.
From what I can tell, "Essential Fax Software" (replacement for MightyFax) or "SnappyFax" seem to be the big guys on the market right now. What do you all suggest, or a better one that I don't know about??? Thanks... |

I have tested (in the past) SnappyFax with my old modem and it worked perfectly, as I can remember.

The only recent SnappyFax I can find at the moment the serial used after in the program changing stuff gives you the message that "the key used was generated by an illegal keygen".
Program looks fine I guess.... If I can get the latest one working with a good fix, I can likely use a custom cover page. Got to find work again..... so, need to fax stuff out. |

I think I used:
Snappy.Fax.v4.22.1.1-BEAN with Snappy.Fax.4.19.2.1.keygen-SND The serial by BEAN didn't work This post has been edited by MasterFaster: Dec 5 2009, 06:32 PM

Windows Fax and Scan will do your job if you just want to send some faxes. This replaced successfully for me winfax pro and works fine with my old pstn modem.

Oh, I see why they went out of business then...... I don't have Vista/Win7 yet, so, I guess I can't use that program, otherwise that looks like that would work.

Windows XP PRO has a faxing program too. Just install fax services (control panel --> add or remove programs --> add remove windows components). Have in mind that winfax pro works perfectly under win XP. Regards |

We use ActiveFax at work, a nice small program with different platforms supported and some cool features.
Pretty well priced also I would say! |

Best replacement is probably FaxTalk at www.faxtalk.com as it supports WinFaxPro logs and phone books. Using anything else basically means you lose all copies of outgoing faxes which you have kept for your records. The trouble is finding somewhere to download faxtalk especially the multiline version.

Windows faxing solution is enough for home or very small business .
Best solution around is ZetaFax (http://www.equisys.com/products/zetafax/index.html). We use it @ work for more than 3.000 faxes daily. Of course you have to invest in dedicated servers with extra fax cards etc etc... And another thing. Fax transmissions are dying nowadays as telex/telegrams died before! Regards |
