The sound card drive includes three types of sound optimizations:
Music Edition

Suggestion:

Please do not disable Ctxfihlp at startup, otherwise sound quality goes worse.

Install package have four small tools("YouP-PAX Fi v2.32 Drivers" in Start menu):
1.AC3-DTS SW Decoder
2.X-Fi X-Fi Splash On or Off
3.Multi-edit-switch
4.Uninstall YouP-PAX Fi v2.32 Drivers and software

AC3/DTS decoder option:
AC3/DTS decoder option was designed for the problems when DVD playback by using SPDIF(sound card hardware decoding AC3/DTS signal), there are different adjustment in the driver depends on what type of CPU you are using, it’s be able to fix the delay, noise during decoding. If still unable to fix your problem, please change to another CPU mode, it may fix your problem.

Installation guide:
Hacked Audigy4 Pro ISO (http://www.cniti.com/soft/mc/2005-14/Audigy4Pro.rar) is strongly recommended to be installed with this set of modified drivers, or you can use New Year 2005 Package instead. Please uninstall all other Creative sound card drivers and applications before install this new set of modified drivers to avoid any conflict issues occurred.

Notes for Drivers:
1. This set of modified drivers is optimized for analog and digital. If any issue occurs, please install other drivers instead of it.
2. If any issue occurs, please uninstall and re-install it. Or re-format your partition and re-install operating system if issues are not fixed.
3. If you willing to install Audigy4 pro software package or any other software packages, please install them and reboot the system before you install the driver, otherwise it may cause some EAX related software unstable.
4. Please do not update your Creative MediaSource player to Ver.3.10.09 or above, otherwise for Audigy2/ZS series sound card may lose “multi-channel WAV recording feature.
5. The driver integrated soft-mod Audigy2/Audigy2 ZS->Audigy4 Pro patch which included for study purpose only. Please remove it after downloading in 24 hours. You have responsibility for the consequence of using this set of modified driver.

Suggestion:
1. DTS-ES-CDs are able to be played with Creative MediaSource Player after install this set of drivers. 3-5 seconds of delay may occur during the first song you play.
2. To get best results on AC3 audio during DVD-video playback, please select NIGHT (MINIMUM) on dynamic compress feature in CREATIVE AUDIO CONTROL PANEL.
3. Audigy series sound card can not use the decoder feature in Creative Audio Control Panel. Please select “CATRTIVE AUDIOHQ + SURROUND MIXER (AUDIGY)”, and use “device control” in AudioHQ to change the settings.

Info by me (MasteFaster): I have successfully installed YouP-PAX Fi v2.32 SP2 (Apps Only - I selected all but drivers) + YouP-PAX Fi v2.33 BOX (driver). During the Installation of YouP-PAX Fi v2.32 SP2 it will ask you about X-Fi Spash Screen, just choose no. During the Installation of YouP-PAX Fi v2.33 BOX it will ask you something about X-Fi, just choose no. Tested and working with excellent sound on my SB Audigy 2 Value.

Attention: The difference between the first release of YouP-PAX Fi v2.33 and the YouP-PAX Fi v2.33 BOX is that the YouP-PAX Fi v2.33 BOX has been updated to support the connection of an X-Fi card with an external control panel from an Audigy 2 ZS or Audigy 4 Pro. Despite that, the 2.33 BOX driver works the same (is equal) with the previous 2.33 build.

The OpenAL Installer for Windows will install the OpenAL 1.1 library, enabling support for core OpenAL operations as well as extensions such as EAX and EFX. The installer supports both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.

Fully integrated and automated install, supporting Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista (32-bit and 64-bit), installs proper drivers. Includes all latest software available.

It is MANDATORY to disable UAC (User Account Control) before installing the package on Windows Vista (specially the 64-bit version).



Known "Windows Vista only" issues (so far):

- Diagnostics is incorrectly available in Setup under 64-bit. It does not work under that OS.
- "Speaker Settings" crashes during uninstall; just close the "Windows encountered a problem" and uninstall will proceed.
- Environment presets acts as Karaoke presets (effects are applied to Microphone).
- Advanced EQ and Special FX presets are available through "EAX Settings" application. You can edit and save the presets, but you can't delete or edit them once saved.

Known issues:

- The Microphone controls may be disabled in Karaoke player. Just use the Windows Mixer and "EAX Settings" / "EAX Console" and to adjust the Microphone volume and effects, respectively.
- Do not install Entertainment Center unless you have one of the supported remote controls (RM-900, RM-1000, RM-1500, RM-1800), otherwise it is useless.

The application does not support Windows Vista 64-bit and setup will close with an error message.


- WaveRT Pull Mode enabled by default
Does not seem to cause any problems, but if you ever need to disable it, follow these steps:
- run the Registry Editor (Regedit) and open the following registry tree:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class
- select Search (or press the F3 key) and type EnableWaveRTPullMode, deleting the value when found.
Restart the computer.

- Built-in Decoder (requires Windows Vista Service Pack 1)
To use the built-in decoder, make sure it is enabled in Audio Console.

Select "SPDIF Out (Creative SB Audigy (WDM))" as the output device of
your player and then configure the AC3/DTS filter to send the stream
through SPDIF.
When you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.


- EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX
EAX effects only work in 4.1, 5.1 e 7.1 speaker settings.

Advanced EQ and Special FX only work in 2.1 speakers or Headphone settings.


- EAX effects, Advanced EQ and Special FX (Using SPDIF Out)
All effects work properly, but when you restart your computer, the Tone settings (Bass and Treble) are not applied.
Just readjust one of the controls one time per boot.


- There is no sound in games with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy
Disable Advanced EQ and Special FX selecting "No effects" before running the game or program.


- Equalizer settings are lost
It happens after you run a game with OpenAL support or using Creative ALchemy. This issue also occurs in Windows XP, so it is not specific to this Windows Vista driver.

When you restart the computer or run Equalizer, the saved setting is automatically loaded.

- No sound when CMSS is enabled using Audio Console (4.1 or more speakers)
Just move the Stereo Focus slider and set it back to the desired position, even if it is 0 (zero). Once the setting is saved, works properly.

This issue does not affect EAX Settings.


- Windows Vista MIDI Device Configuration Utility
Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications.
The driver installer automatically selects the first hardware MIDI synthesizer found.

Note: The Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (PCMCIA) does not have a hardware synthesizer.

Note: I'm using daniel_k packs for the last 2 years and I can say that he did an excellent job. It seems that he has advanced coding skills (he proved it all these years), thus you know what you get.


And here something important that daniel_k wrote, about the tweaks and optimizations that can be applied to Creative's drivers:




I have also tried to figure out, with my tiny knowledge, if there are any tweaks at all in Creative's drivers, but I couldn't find any performance related. Maybe because of my lack of knowledge, or maybe because they don't exist. I will believe daniel_k in this matter, who is a lot more advanced programmer than me. I'm still a rookie. :)

Conclusion: Thus if you get other packs that use Creative's drivers and state that they improve the performance etc. etc., then you are being fooled and cheated.

IMPORTANT:

I suggest you that after installing this CD, then you should install SB Audigy Series Support Pack 3.8 by daniel_k. The Support Pack 3.8 by daniel_k has fixes and improvements that are not included in this CD.

Also daniel_k said that he will probably release a new version of his Audigy Series installation CD.
